Missing a number of players once again, including regular skipper Guy Black, a young bowling attack had no answers to the visitors’ attacking style. Jack Welch bowled well to pick up two deserved scalps, whilst Elliot Lee and Albert Roberts both took a wicket apiece.
In reply, Bridgnorth dug in and tried their best to keep out an accurate Guilsfield bowling attack, particularly Steve Barclay who played his best innings for the thirds to date, batting 22 overs for his watchful 26. Stuart Farquhar (29*) also dug in, but a middle order tumble took the visitors to the brink of victory, and the last wicket fell with just three overs remaining in the game.
Having won just one game in the first half of the season, the thirds will need a change of fortunes to remain in Shropshire League Division Four, and this weekend host Harpers at Cricket Meadow on Sunday.
