The bowlers worked hard against an onslaught from the home side, particularly opener Choudhry who hit an unbeaten century. Talented youngsters Albert Roberts (1-15) and Archie Pugh both produced promising, economical spells, and Jack Welch put in the hard yards to take the other wicket to fall.

In reply, Mike Mooney (17) showed great determination by dropping anchor at the top of the order, as Bridgnorth fought hard to bat out the innings. Pugh (14) offered further fight, and the remainder of the batting tried their best to keep the home bowlers at bay, but Harpers eventually clinched the win in the 41st over.

Returning to Chelmarsh on Saturday, Bridgnorth hope the return of more experienced players will give them the chance to get a better result against Hodnet & Peplow.
