Stand-in skipper Andy Carson won the toss chose the bowl first, and his decision reaped almost instant plentiful rewards. Ollie Gill (3-21) invoked recent memories of Australian batting collapses as he took three wickets in his first three overs, including two in two balls, as Pelsall's top order was ripped apart.

Fellow strike bowler Cam Wallis also took a scalp for himself, before back-up bowlers Ben Leather (2-19) and Lewis Hurdley (2-26) further asserted the Cricket Meadow men's dominance. Wallis (2-16) then returned to take his second, before Mark MacPherson-Lees (1-11) finished the job in the 35th over as the visitors were dismissed for just 105.

With regular skipper Alex Yarnley missing, and Carson choosing to drop himself down the order, a new-look opening combination saw Matt Martin (26) and Glenn Edwards (13) begin the run chase for the home side. The pair made a solid start, before being dismissed in fairly quick succession when seemingly well set, followed by Ben Barclay as the visitors got a fleeting glimpse at a chance to get back in the contest.

However, Mark MacPherson-Lees (29 not out) and this season's dependable finisher Andrew Mooney thwarted Pelsall's hopes to ease their side past the winning line. Mooney top-scored with an unbeaten 32 as victory was secured in the 26th over by seven wickets.

Next week sees Bridgnorth travel to Smethwick in what could turn out to be a crucial match when it comes to deciding the overall victor in BDPCL Reserve Division Two North.
