After skipper Alex Yarnley won the toss and chose to bowl first on a used wicket, the visitors got off to a solid start to reach 51-0 after ten overs. Ollie Gill, whose conversion from top-order batsman to highly effective seamer has been a revelation this season, then took the first two wickets during an economical ten-over spell of 2-12.

It was then over to offspinner Mark MacPherson-Lees, who extracted good turn to bamboozle the opposition middle order as the momentum swung decisively back towards the hosts. A well-taken catch in the deep from Matt Martin accounted for his sixth wicket in the final over of an excellent fifteen-over spell.

Bridgnorth's run-chase got off to the worst possible start as Yarnley lost his off stump to the second ball of the innings, but fellow opener Andy Carson and Ben Barclay worked hard to weather the early storm. The Fordhouses bowlers continued to work hard, however, and with Barclay and Martin caught behind the wicket, the Cricket Meadow men found themselves at the potentially tricky position of 45-3 in the 15th over.

The in-form Andrew Mooney (48 not out) then joined Carson (39 not out) in the middle, and the pair settled any nerves that may have been on-edge with an excellent, unbeaten partnership of 77. Both became more positive as the winning line got closer, with Mooney in particular driving and pulling with great confidence, before victory was confirmed in the 30th over.

The victory also saw Yarnley's men return to the top spot of BDPCL Reserve Division Two North, after previous leaders Oswestry were beaten by fifth-placed Brewood.
