The hosts won the toss and elected to bat first on a great wicket. Opening bowlers Cam Wallis (1-32) and Ben Leather (1-40) both claimed a wicket early on, before the Coventry top order weighed in.

A few dropped catches cost Bridgnorth dearly as Greg Beaufoy top-scored with an unbeaten 140 to underpin the hosts final total of 273-8, as the runs flowed in the middle overs. The experience of Andy Leather (2-49), Alex Yarnley (3-52) and Steve Caine (1-46) bowled well to restrict the lower order towards the end, but the Cricket Meadow men would always struggle to overhaul such a strong total.

The reply started positively as Yarnley (45) attacked a number of loose early deliveries to give his side a quick start, but once the change bowlers began to apply the pressure, the middle order revealed its familiar cracks. Doug Roberts (25) and Eddie Mullard (24) both dug in to keep their side in the game, but the run rate required was always going to prove too high.

A late cameo from Ben Leather (16) took Bridgnorth to their final total of 177-9, confirming Coventry's victory by 96 runs. The Bank Holiday weekend sees a double appearance at Cricket Meadow for the 2nd XI, hosting Dorridge on Saturday and Kidderminster Victoria on Monday.
