Ben Barclay (45) and Joe Chadwick (38) both played well to give their side a good start, but got out before they could go on to make a match defining effort, after Ben Leather (27) had played watchfully early on. The middle- and lower-order then attempted to lift the run-rate, but wickets fell at regular intervals, as the Cricket Meadow men were dismissed for 180 with two overs left unused.

In reply, the visitors were always in control of the game as Bridgnorth’s bowlers struggled to find a decisive edge. A wicket apiece was shared between Cam Wallis, Ben Leather, Andy Leather and Alex Yarnley, with ‘keeper Ollie Gill effecting a run-out, as Shifnal reached the winning line with ease in the penultimate over.

Needing a win to get their season back on track, Bridgnorth’s second string will need to start trying new ideas in an attempt to turn their fortunes around. A trip to West Bromwich Dartmouth provides their next opportunity on Saturday.
