Choosing to bowl first, Bridgnorth bowled well early on but without reward, as the home side built steadily towards a strong total. Andy Leather (2-26), Lewis Hurdley (1-23), Steve Caine (1-38) and Alex Yarnley (1-39) were the wicket-takers for the visitors, but a final total of 199-5 would ultimately prove too strong.

The Cricket Meadow men’s reply never really got going, with only opener Yarnley (20) reaching double figures. A bad day on the pitch eventually came to an end in the 34th over at 72 all out.

The seconds will hope for a much improved performance at home to Penkridge this weekend.
