Five wickets for the returning Dale Quiney sets up yet another convincing victory for Bridgnorth, this time as Old Elizabethans are skittled for 97...

Quiney and Tom Weaver both struck early as the openers were both dismissed for a duck, forcing overseas batsman Johann Smit to dig in and rescue his side from a precarious position, with Weaver (3-19) also taking the third wicket to fall.

Dave Exall kept things tight in the middle overs, conceding just seventeen runs in his ten overs and taking a wicket of his own, as ever reliable 'keeper Gareth Mumford followed his earlier stumping by gratefully accepting an edge behind.

The irrepressible Quiney returned to claim four further wickets to finish with 5-36 as he ran through the lower order, and with Sam Whitney and Ralph also taking a late scalp each, the hosts were dismissed for 128 in 45 overs.

In reply, Karl Quiney resumed his role at the top of the order, and was joined by Dave Exall for the first time this season. The new-look combination made a good start as the pair put on fifty for the first wicket before Quiney was dismissed for 20.

With the in-form Lockley then removed soon after, a few jitters may have started to surface in the Cricket Meadow men's dressing room, but Ian Gregory joined Exall (36) and took their side close to three figures before both men were also sent back in quick succession.

At 96-4 skipper Ralph was joined by Matt Martin at a crucial moment in the chase, and after playing solidly early on, they shut out any chance of the hosts getting back into the contest as the winning line was reached in the 35th over with no further alarm.

The final game of the season sees the 1sts take on Tamworth at Cricket Meadow. If they win, they will be confirmed as champions of BDPCL Division Two.
