Result - Winning Draw
Visitors Tamworth asked Bridgnorth to bat first on a showery afternoon at Cricket Meadow that caused a number of interruptions during their innings, but points were crucial against the side occupying the second relegation spot in Division Two of the BPDCL, and the hosts took their full allocation of overs.
Dave Exall, in a purple patch with the bat following his exploits for Herefordshire, continued his form with a commanding 72 at the top of the order, after losing opening partner Ryan Lockley with the score on 10. Exall was second man out with the score on 95, and the rest of the home batsmen built on this platform to rack up 246-9 and score maximum batting points.
Middle- and late-order contributions came from AJ Smith, Jono Whitney, Jack Edwards & Mark MacPherson-Lees as the much vaunted powerful batting line-up fired. For the visitors, veteran spinner John Manuel claimed 5-93 with the ball.
Then came the Tom Weaver show as the swingster claimed 8-54 from 17 overs with all of his wickets being catches as the pursuit for the winning draw target proved too much for the visiting side. Jack Edwards was the other wicket-taker, again by the virtue of safe hands, as the Staffordshire outfit slumped to 115-9 to give Bridgnorth maximum bowling points as well as the reward for the winning draw, propelling them to sixth in the table and a comfortable cushion above the drop zone.
Skipper MacPherson-Lees was happy with the points haul. "It would have been nice to have wrapped them up but 18 points goes a long way to us playing in this division next season, and that was our pre-season aim. It was good to see Dave Exall convert his County form into Club runs, and to see Weav take eight when he has had little luck all season is pleasing," he said after the game. He added, "We must now build on this and with some breathing space who knows what we can achieve."

Result - Lost by 2 wickets
Bridgnorth's bowlers nearly rescued their side's poor batting display in Saturday's game at Lichfield as both sides battled with the weather to create a game of cricket. Heavy rain delayed the start of the game and a further interruption reduced the match to 35 overs a side.
Put in to bat first Bridgnorth stuttered to 127-9 from their allotted overs with Al Whitby top-scoring. Playing through the rain Bridgnorth's bowlers had to contend with a wet ball and a positive approach from opener Stuart Davis, who struck a rapid half-century to put the visitors on the back foot.
When he was bowled out by Steve Caine, one of four victims for the experienced off-spinner, a doorway was opened as the overs began to run out. But with two balls remaining skipper Ian Wright eased his side home by two wickets.
Despite the reversal, Bridgnorth remain in the promotion race but a positive result coupled with a few of the top sides playing would have seen them higher than the fourth place they currently occupy.
