Result - Won by 9 wickets

Bridgnorth's chalk and cheese season continues as they bounced back from last week's reversal to register a nine-wicket destruction of Aston Manor at Perry Park on Saturday.

Having won the toss and invited the home side to bat the Cricket Meadow men ripped through the batting with Tom Weaver starting the ball rolling, Jono Whitney dismantling the middle order, and Sam Whitney cleaning up the hapless tail.

Bridgnorth then made light work of the chase as they passed the target in only fourteen overs, with Jono Whitney being the only wicket in the debit column. Dave Exall made a welcome return to run-making form, steering the team home with the watchful Ryan Lockley. Lockley made his full Shropshire debut earlier in the week, a reward for his consistency at club level.

"There's no explanation for the wild swing in our results," said manager Ray Perry, after the game's early conclusion. "We need to be more consistent though as the bottom of the table is still closer than the top."

Result - Winning Draw

Bridgnorth's second string maintained their recent form with an emphatic nine-wicket victory over Sutton Coldfield at home to keep in the pack chasing table-toppers Wombourne.

Having won the toss and asking the visitors to bat first the Cricket Meadow men had man of the match Tom Baugh on fire as the teenage seamer tore through the early order. Andy Leather and AJ Smith built on his efforts to restrict the visitors to 173-9 from their 50 overs.

In reply Bridgnorth opening duo Andy Carson and Smith, in his first game of the season after his return from Durham University, put on 156 for the first wicket in just 36 overs as both batsmen tucked in to the bowling with a flurry of boundaries. Tom Weston then joined Carson to gain maximum points.

Result - Lost by 85 runs

Bridgnorth's 3rd XI travelled to Market Drayton for a difficult looking tie against the team second in the league on Saturday, and appeared to be up against it as the home side's free-scoring batsmen raced to 235-6 declared from 41 overs. Young swing bowler Ben Leather came away with the plaudits, and Alex Thomas bowled 15 solid but luckless overs in an otherwise wilting bowling display against some powerful hitting.

Positive cricket was then required to chase in reply and Harry Broad took on the mantle with a well-crafted 75 to anchor the innings, putting on 51 for the first wicket with Elliot Pottinger and 96 for the third with Andy Mooney. Sam Best then gave the innings some impetous before a mini collapse looked to have halted the surge to victory. With the extra overs from the declaration running out Thomas and skipper Pete Oliver crashed vital boundaries to claim a notable scalp with an over to spare.
