Bridgnorth 1st XI remain top of the BDPCL Division Three despite losing out to the weather on Saturday against Studley, who batted first.
A consecutive 5-wicket haul from Jono Whitney helped reduce the hosts to 126 all out, with Ed Lewis again proving his worth, taking 3-28. In reply Bridgnorth made 106-6 based around a solid 43 from Dave Exall, before rain stopped play with the visitors looking well set for another maximum-point haul.
However, the run-rate that Bridgnorth scored at ensured they gained the lion's share of the points for a winning-draw, to keep them ahead of Whitchurch.
Bridgnorth CC 2nd XI v Kidderminster (Home)
Bridgnorth 2nd XI (149) lost to Kidderminster (242-4) by 93 runs
Batting: G. Lewis 35, C. Goodwin-Tindall 32.
Bowling: G. Edwards 3-39.
The second string again fell short in their game against a powerful unit in Kidderminster, who chose to bat first, racking up a challenging 242-4 before declaring a couple of overs early. Glenn Edwards was the pick of the home attack.
In reply the hosts got off to a solid start through Greg Lewis and Conor Goodwin-Tindall who put on 76 for the first wicket. But after both fell in quick succession only skipper Rob Hughes and Liam Brown, batting in the tail, offered any real hope of saving the game as Bridgnorth folded to 149 all out.
Bridgnorth CC 3rd XI v Bomere Heath (Away)
Bridgnorth 3rd XI (201-8) had a winning draw against Bomere Heath (168-7)
Batting: K. Osborne 63, F. Broad 45, H. Broad 29.
Bowling: F. Broad 4-32, K. Osborne 2-37.
Bridgnorth 3rd XI came away from Bomere Heath with the best of a drawn game on Saturday. Batting first they totalled 201-8 with Kieran Osborne again to the fore at the top of the order. The Broad brothers, Freddie and Harry, kept the momentum flowing after Osborne was out.
In reply Bomere reached 168-7 at stumps, with Freddie Broad and Osborne showing their all-round promise.
Bridgnorth CC 1st XI v Beacon (Home)
Bridgnorth 1st XI (189) lost to Beacon (213-9) by 24 runs
Batting: R. Hughes 47, A. Carson 43, G. Mumford 39, AJ. Smith 27.
Bowling: C. Wallis 5-48.
President's Day saw table-topping Beacon visit the Meadow to defend their unbeaten Sunday League record, and batting first were satisfied with their 213-9. For the home side youngster Cam Wallis shone with the ball amongst more illustrious company.
Useful knocks from Rob Hughes, Andrew Carson, Gaz Mumford and AJ Smith got the home side close, but none went on to win the game as the hosts were all out for 189.

Bridgnorth 2nd XI (116) beat Beacon (87) by 29 runs

Bowling: J. Shaw 5-7, B. Leather 3-12.
Bridgnorth's young 2nd XI beat table-toppers Beacon in a low-scoring game.
Jimmy Shaw was the main star as he helped his side to 116 all out and rolled the hosts for just 87. Support was given with the bat by Dan Taylor and with the ball by Ben Leather.
